Amidst the news of government setting up an inquiry on the operations of Ringing Bells, the company which rose to fame after it announced world’s cheapest smartphone at less than $4, Ringing Bells CEO has publicly announced that he and the team will be happy to cooperate with any kind of investigation taking place against the brand.
“We remain committed to cooperate with any government agency that may need to inquire our organisation for any reason or suspicion. We have already done so with authorities/agencies that have so required,” the company based in Noida in Uttar Pradesh said in a statement, citing Managing Director Mohit Goel
On tuesday, there was an FIR filed by a politician seeking clarification on the whole episode. The FIR was filed under Section 420 of IPC (Fraud) and IT act. The FIR also stated that the company was in process of running away with the money it had collected from the people on the name of world’s cheapest smartphone.
Though, Mohit Goel added that the company is still committed to provide the smartphone at the announced rate and the shipping will start very soon.
There are no more developments on this case after the FIR was filed, hopefully we will have more updates on it soon.
