Vodafone has already joined the elite club of mobile operators with 4G services in the country. Going forward, vodafone is now set to announce the launch of 4G services in Delhi NCR region today. The invitations for the media events have been sent and the event will be attended by Vodafone COO Naveen Chopra.
The roll out of 4G enabled SIM cards was started as early as last month, when Vodafone announced that the company was working for a nationwide rollout of 4G services.
While launching the 4G ready SIM cards earlier last month, Apoorva Malhotra, Business Head – Vodafone Delhi NCR, said “The launch of 4G SIM Cards before the official launch of the service is to ensure smooth transition for over 10 million customers in Delhi NCR. Vodafone wants to give better and faster options to the consumers to use 4G services as soon as they are rolled out. We’re excited after this initiative and hopefully, we’ll be able to please customers with the 4G services on the superior 1800 Mhz band in Delhi & NCR very soon”.
Before targeting the NCR region, Vodafone has already rolled out 4G services in Kerala and Mysore (Karnataka). In the next plans, the telecom company plans to cover major metros such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru & Kolkata. We should have an update about the 4G roll out in these cities by end of the first quarter.
